2026 Ford Edge Redesign

2026 Ford Edge Redesign, MSRP, Interior   –  The Ford Edge , which made its debut in 2005, was the first hybrid SUV. With the 2020 redesign of the Edge , the automaker brought back the hybrid drivetrain seven years after it had disappeared. The mid-range SEL tested costs $35,249 with front-wheel drive and $36,749 with all-wheel drive before freight and taxes. The final cost, before taxes and freight, went up to $42,699 because my tester had a lot of extras. 2026 Ford Edge Redesign

2026 Ford Edge Redesign and Update Plan

Exterior and Interior

The Edge ‘s seats are made of fabric, while the upper-level Titanium and mine SEL are covered in a leather-like material that feels and looks nice. The SEL comes with a heated steering wheel and seats, which are reasonably supportive and comfy. Both headroom and rear seat space are decent.2026 Ford Edge Interior

I was much less pleased when I switched to the passenger side, even though my 10-way power driver’s seat allowed me to find the ideal position. That one is just four-way manual, which isn’t horrible in and of itself, but I thought it was set too high. I can only image how a tall passenger would feel, even though I’m not that tall, and I felt uncomfortable sitting on top of it.

2026 Ford Edge Specs

Automatic headlights, push-button start, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot, heated front seats, and dual-zone temperature control are standard on all hybrid versions. A remote starter, a 10-way power driver’s seat, heated mirrors, roof rails, foglights, and one-touch up/down on all windows were added to my mid-range SEL tester.2026 Ford Edge Redesign

However, my tester had a couple add-ons, and there’s always space for more. The most expensive was the $2,500 Technology Pack, which included wireless charging, a power driver’s seat, a kick sensor for the tailgate, and an enhanced sound. I also had a Class II towing package for $600, albeit capacity maxes out, and a panoramic sunroof for $1,750. Since I don’t like glass tops, I’d save money there at 680 kg (1,499 lb).  2026 Ford Edge Redesign

Engine and Performance

The 2.5L four-cylinder engine that powers the Edge produces 165 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque by itself. It is connected to the electric motor of the hybrid system, and when they cooperate, they produce 200 horsepower. Although the Escape weighs a little less than the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, which produces a combined 219 horsepower, I never felt the need for a more powerful engine.2026 Ford Edge Engine

Depending on what’s optimal for the driving circumstances, the system can run on gasoline, electricity, or a combination of the two. It does this automatically and smoothly. There is also a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), which, once charged, will only run on electricity before switching back to gas-electric hybrid operation runs out.  2026 Ford Edge Redesign

2026 Ford Edge Fuel Economy

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) rates the all-wheel-drive Edge at 5.5 L/100 km in the city, 6.4 on the highway, and 5.9 while driving in combination. Given that the front-wheel-only model is just slightly off at 5.4/6.3/5.8 L/100 km city/highway/combined, the all-wheel drive system doesn’t pose much of a penalty. 2026 Ford Edge Redesign

I averaged 6.1 L/100 km when driving mixed, and 87-octane fuel is plenty. The Edge and its RAV4 Hybrid rival, which is exclusively available in all-wheel drive and has an official combined rating of 6.0, are tied at 5.9 L/100 km.

2026 Ford Edge Safety Features

All trim levels are equipped with blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance, and emergency front braking. An additional $850 suite that included adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centering, speed sign recognition, evasive steering aid (which helps you avoid collisions if you don’t spin the wheel hard enough), and navigation was added to my tester.  2026 Ford Edge Redesign

2026 Ford Edge Price and Release Date

The SE front-wheel-drive model of the Escape Hybrid starts at $32,749, while my SEL AWD started at $36,749 and was upgraded to $42,699. The Edge ‘s cabin is well-designed and comfy, but it feels unworthy of a sticker price of over forty thousand dollars since it has a lot of pebbly plastic and a lot of driveline technology.

Even so, I may have rated it higher since Toyota’s RAV4 Hybrid, which begins at $32,590, offers a better deal. The RAV4 comes with all-wheel drive as standard, which is only $201 more expensive than the base Escape (Ford’s AWD costs $1,299). The base Toyota also has heated mirrors and adaptive cruise control, which are extra-charge add-ons to the base Ford. Comparing my SEL tester with its load of options, the RAV4 XSE is very closely-equipped without any add-ons, and it’s $529 less than my Escape.  2026 Ford Edge Redesign
